My Blueberry Nights Movie Story
I think it’s fair to say that Wong Kar-wai has made some of the most distinctive films in the history of feature films. So calling My Blueberry Nights a Wong Kar-wai film is self-explanatory. On the other hand, My Blueberry Nights is also by far the worst Wong Kar-wai film I’ve personally seen, replacing the dizzying vertigo of 2046 and the painful romance of In the Mood for Love with something downright fluffy. Like the cake that gives the film its title, My Blueberry Nights is really just a dessert, sweet and almost insubstantial, and likely to give you mouth ulcers if eaten too often.
